Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister visiting Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar

Md Masuduzzaman (Rajib) : The country's largest Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar comprising the coastal areas of Mirsarai, Sitakund, Sonagazi upazilas. On the morning of September 20 (Wednesday), Chief Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Md Tofazzal Hossain Mia visited this industrial city. At the time, he said, 'This large industrial city is fully prepared with all the facilities for investment; 14 lakh people will get employment here. In this industrial city project of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's dream, a beautiful environment for investment has already been ensured by ensuring all the facilities for industrial investment including gas, electricity, water. Also, 139 families have been affected by the establishment of this industrial city, we will give them houses. They will be given employment opportunities. All steps are being taken by the police including the establishment of a new police station for the safety of the locals as well as the industrial city. The chief secretary also said, 'In this industrial city, garments, agricultural products, agricultural processing machinery, integrated textiles, leather and leather products, shipbuilding, motorbike assembly factories, food and beverages, paints and chemicals, paper, plastics, light engineering ( including auto-parts and bicycles), pharmaceutical products, electricity and solar parks will be set up. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Harun said, 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City is being built on a total of 33 thousand 800 acres of land in Mirsarai, Sitakund and Sonagazi economic zones. Already, 5 companies including Asian Paints, Nippon McDonald Steel Mill and Samuda have started production here. 3 more companies are waiting to go into production. Later, the Chief Secretary visited various factories in Shilpa Nagar and planted trees along with fish spawning in the 'Sheikh Hasina Sarovar'. Also during the visit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar, Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Tofail Islam, Range Police DIG Noore Alam Meena, Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman, District Police Superintendent AKM Shafiullah, Mirsarai Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Monirul Islam, Upazila Executive Officer Mahfuza Zerin, Assistant Commissioner Land. Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station Md. Zahid Hossain and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirsarai Police Station Md. Kabir Hossain were present.
